For the 30th anniversary of the Dieppe Kite Festival, and supported by our project WOKIPI, we launched the idea of having a stand during this Festival of Dieppe, introducing people to Kite Aerial Picture.
|
| |
 |
After a few months and some mail exchanges to convince the festival to lend us a big stand of 8x4 m and our friends and so kapers to participate in this new adventure .... We're finally together for 9 days non-stop!
We wanted to make this stand a meeting place for kapers present at Dieppe
We have a large space to install everything at the best that we brought: rigs, plan, model, radio control, historical documents, books and of course many photographs taken by kite
|

|
|
Sandrine and her dream team, have provided us a container where we can store our equipment every night, dry and safe. In a few days we are the champions of the assembly-disassembly. Paul Chapman did us the honor of presenting some historical panels complementary to ours. |
| |
| |
As you can see from the pictures, our stand was allways full. We had a lot of questions and people are very intrigued and very interested in this application of kite. they don't know this. |

Panoramic photo of Dieppe by Dominique Nicolai was a craze! The inhabitants of Dieppe did not imagine their city in this manner. A huge panoramic Dieppe by Sergei Tarasenko (7m long) was installed in the Barnum of central village.
A big thank to those who helped us to develop this exhibition and participated in the animation: Bruno Tondellier, with lots of equipment and especially his diorama explaining "how it works aérophoto" (photo bottom right). For children (and adult) it was a great discovery!
José Wallois had brought a video receiving antenna 2.4 GHz, and via the video projector of Bruno, the public was able (after several days of adjustments and a good laugh) view aerial views in "Live".
In addition to his good humor, sophisticated electronic equipment or his implistic rigs, Christian Bécot presented the banner of WW kap project, with explanations in English and French.
From our side, Pat and Pat Mouchague we presented panels on part of the history of aérophoto by kite. Of course, starting with Arthur Batut, but especially its role during the First World War. All illustrated with a diorama depicting a "poilu" (French soldier in First World War) with a Saconney a old camera and the winch (picture above right). |

We have hosted family members of Emile Wenz. And thank you to those who gave us a helping hand to the facility as Pierre Lesage
|
| |
We also made reproductions of the panoramic photograph of San Francisco by G. Lawrence (1906) and by H. Jebe (2006). Many people were surprised by the quality of these photographs, in particular that of 1906 |
| |
Everyday Sue Storey came on the stand ... and not only for the "Tea Time" with cakes but providing her equipments, photo albums, his shots of the week .... The stand is also the stand aérophoto DIY (do it yourself) |
| |
But it is time to move to (other) serious stuff! A large whiteboard will record the radio frequency and to avoid interference between aero-photographers. And here we go ... Do not forget that there is a contest of aerial photography kite.
|
| |
For those who have not guessed, pictured above left, not a workshop aéropho but the trunk of Christian. For aerial photography contest we had 17 entrants: Xavier Retout - Ralf Dietrich - Bruno Duval - Christophe Jacquemoud (4 on the poduim!) - Corentin Dumaine - Sue Storey - Chrisitan Bécot - Frédérique Thorigny - |
| |
Paolo, Sergey et Petro Tarasenko - Jean Daniel Chantelauze - Marie hélène et Jean Pierre Schaeffer - Thierry lecuyer - Bruno Tondellier and Patrick Mouchague. |
| |
Some of the pictures that we selected. Above, right, the "Tensarity Kite": now that flight tests are satisfactory, the next step will be for this kite to produce electricity ... To be continued
|
| |
| Patrick also use a pole to make videos (see Rokkakus fight) and shooting. Above is another way to see Rokkakus fight. |

We spent a wonderful week, to share with the public and kite-flyers.
As you know, our project WOKIPI, is making a world tour with the theme of the aerial photograph by kite.
Our first continent to be South America ...
We have benefited from Dieppe to make a "Aperitif WOKIPI", inviting friends including those from Guatemala, Brazil, Chile, Curacao, Ecuador and Colombia.
|
|
On an air of Brazilian music, and punch, we spent an unforgettable time...
A surprise gift from our friends ... And this is a highly emotional moment! A very big thank you. We will make good use of this gift during our trip.
